CEREBRAL PALSY AWARENESS AND PROTECTION WEEK

The City of San Pedro celebrates the 15th Cerebral Palsy Awareness and Protection Week with the theme: “A better World for Persons with Cerebral Palsy Love+Understand+Support=Make Difference”. Serving as guest speaker was CHO Ob-gyne Dr. Mary Ann Rivera who discussed the types, effects and management of patients with cerebral palsy. People who have cerebral palsy have a type of brain damage which causes trouble controlling the movements of their body and there is no cure for it. Cerebral palsy is a complex disability that can vary in effect from one individual to another with problems ranging from weakness in one hand to a complete lack of voluntary movement throughout the body.

The seminar attended the 60 pregnant women was conducted by City Health Office and Persons With Disability Office last September 21, 2018 at Jose L. Amante Emergency Hospital.
