22 August 2016 City of San Pedro – In an interview done this morning, Mr. Pablo “Jun” Castillo, Program Manager of the City of San Pedro Bottom-Up-Budgeting, in a meeting of all livelihood chairpersons of cities/municipalities in Laguna at the Provincial Capitol, Sta. Cruz, Laguna in August 9, 2016 was elected Chairman of the Laguna Livelihood Coordinating Council (LLCD). Garnering an overwhelming total of 20 votes, Castillo stood out from all those present as his contenders from Los Baños got 4 and 2 from Mabitac. This happened as Castillo made a presentation on the volume and comprehensive way the livelihood programs are being conducted in the City of San Pedro.
The main task of LLCD is for LGU representatives of the council to go all over the province down to the barangay level to inspect existing and facilitate creation of more livelihood projects synchronized with the Governor’s Caravan, a Project of Governor Ramil Hernandez.
Part of the the projected vision-mission-goal of the council is to move all the member cities and municipalities to help one another in marketing of the products generated from the livelihood projects such as organizing trade exhibits for the purpose. It is also the objective of the council to conduct trainings at the barangays and the training of trainers to be acted out by the existing pool of trainers at the provincial level.-(mgb/PAIO)
