SAN PEDRO CITY HALL – Nakipagpulong ang Community Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Barangay Magsaysay Validation sa pamunuan ng Barangay Magsaysay upang talakayin at pagtibayin ang mga datos sa ginawang “survey” o pagsusuri ng barangay ukol sa mga pangunahing suliranin sa nasasakupan na ginanap mula Hulyo ng 2015 hanggang Agosto ng 2016.
Sa temang “CBMS Core Indicators : The 13+1 dimensions of poverty,” tinalakay ng CBMS, sa pamumuno ni Gng. Yvonne Geolingo, ang mga suliraning kinakaharap ng Barangay Magsaysay tulad ng kakulangan sa tamang nutrisyon; pabahay, malinis na tubig, sapat na edukasyon; kita at kabuhayan; at kapayapaan at kaayusan.
Ayon sa datos ng CBMS, lumalabas na 30% na pamilya sa nasabing barangay ang walang magamit na malinis at ligtas na inuming tubig. 22.13% naman ng populasyon ang hindi kumikita ng sapat upang mabuhay ang kanilang pamilya. Habang 10% ang nakararanas ng gutom dahil sa kakulangan ng pagkain. Samantala, 8.93% na pamilya lamang ang nakakagamit ng malinis na “toilet facility,” habang unemployment rate ay sa 5.19%; at 1.6% ang sa mga biktima ng heinous crimes (base sa datos ng Philippine National Police).
Sa pangunguna ni Kapitan Vioquelin B. Pascual Jr, Chairman ng Brgy. Magsaysay; at ni Gng. Geolingo, iminungkahi nla na magsagawa ng mga suhestiyon at programa ang kanilang ahensya upang mabawasan o masolusyonan ang bawat suliraning kinakaharap ng Barangay Magsaysay.

Ang BOSS program ng City Business Permit and Licensing Office (CBPLO) ay inilunsad para sa mabilis at maayos na renewal ng mga business permit at pagbabayad ng business taxes.

Sa tulong ng programang ito, nakalikom ng halagang P124,921,770.71 na mas malaki kumpara nung nakaraang taon na umabot ng P116, 532,023.28.

Narito ang mga hakbang na ginawa upang mapabilis ang proseso:

Step 1 – Application, Accounting Numbering at Record Verification;
Step 2 – Clearance (Zoning, Building Official, Health Office, MENRO, PESO), Sales Statement (Presentation of F/S Previous Year, ITR Previous Year, Quarterly Tax o Monthly Percentage Tax);
Step 3 – Assessments (Renew Application and Requirements, Fire Clearance, BFP Payments to BFP Personnel);
Step 4 – One Time Payments (CTC, Receipts, Others);

LABOR EDUCATION FOR GRADUATING STUDENTS

Series of seminars entitled “Labor Education for Graduating Students” was held, February 9 and 10, with program speaker Mary Jane Corcuera, provincial PESO Manager. School participants were Laguna Northwestern College (9am), and Computer Site Institute (1pm) held at Multipurpose Hall. The program, held the following day, took place at the AVR Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) San Pedro (9am), and at the covered court of St. Louis Anne College in Elvinda Village (1pm). SAN PEDRO CITY ASSESSOR RECEIVES RECOGNITION

MAKULAY NA STREET DANCING COMPETITION, TAMPOK SA SAMPAGUITA FESTIVAL

Naging matindi ang naging paghahanda ngayong taon ng lungsod ng San Pedro sa pagdiriwang ng Sampaguita Festival kung saan itinampok ang makulay na Grand Parade at Street Dancing Competition noong ika-22 ng Pebrero, 2pm. Nakisaya ang City Hall employees at San Pedronians sa pagtatanghal ng street dancing competition bilang pagpupugay sa kanilang patron na si St. Peter Apostol kung saan nakilahok ang 9 na grupo na mula sa mga pampubliko at pampribadong paaralang elementarya at sekondarya ng nabanggit na lungsod. Ang mga participating groups ay mula sa Pacita Complex National Highschool, San Pedro Relocation Center National Highschool, Galaw Etniko (civic org), Sampaguita National Highschool, San Lorenzo School, Southville 3-A National Highschool, Laguna Northwestern College, Our Lady of Assumption College (OLAC), at Pacita Complex Senior Highschool. Ang non-competing groups ay nilahukan ng mga mag-aaral mula sa Sampaguita Elementary School, Cuyab Elementary School, San Roque Elementary School, Pacita Complex Elementary School, at Estrella Elemenetary School. Ang taunang street dancing competition ay isang tradisyon sa lungsod kung saan ang mga kalahok ay may kaniya-kaniyang pasiklaban ng choreography at props upang manalo. Sinimulan ng marching bands ang programa sa South Fairway Subd., Landayan patungo ng San Roque, hanggang makarating ng city plaza. Tinanghal na kampeon at tumanggap ng P25,000 cash prize at certificate ang Laguna Northwestern College. Pumangalawa at tumanggap ng tig-P20,000 cash prize at certificate ang Sampaguita National Highschool, habang nakuha naman ng Galaw Etniko ang ikatlong puwesto na tumanggap ng P15,000 cash prize at certificate. Bago matapos ang programa ay nagpahayag ng pasasalamat si City Mayor Lourdes S. Cataquiz sa lahat ng nagbigay ng suporta upang maging matagumpay ang pagdiriwang ng Sampaguita Festival. Kabilang sa mga sumuporta sa programa ang Zumba Group, Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), Tribo Magayon, Puregold, Jollibee, Chowking, atbp.
