Women’s Summit 2019, the Culminating Activity for this year’s Women’s Month with National Theme “Make Change Work for Women” and International Theme “#BalanceForBetter. Better the Balance, Better the World” was conducted in coordination with City Social Welfare and Development Office Head/Tourism, Culture and Arts Concurrent Head Ma. Fatima C. Autor at the Atrium of the City Hall of San Pedro, March 26. City Mayor Lourdes S. Cataquiz, in her welcome speech, extolled the pivotal role of women in this globally challenging world. Six (6) prominent personalities talked on topics delving into women’s issues namely, Dr. Nona S. Ricafort, Former CHED Commissioner and IWC District 380 Chairman – Women Leadership in Bridging the GAP; Baby Boomers, Generation X and Millennials, Ms. Ahna Marie S. Mira, Program Director, Global Peace Administration Officer, Global Peace Foundation Philippines – Women’s Empowerment through International Partnership and Networking, Ms. Gemma Cruz Araneta – Chairperson, Heritage Conservation Society and Former Secretary, Department of Tourism – Women’s Traditions, Culture and Heritage, Miss Susan R. Locsin, National President, Girl Scout of the Philippines – Development and Empowerment of the Next Generation: The Youth and Girl Scouting and Dr. Maria Rosa Nieva Carrion, The Outstanding Women in the Nation’s Service (TOWNS) Awardee and one of the 100 Most Influential Filipinas in the World – The Art and Science of Happiness. Ms. Rosita S. Celis, the Over-all Chairman of the Organizing Committee delivered the Vote of Thanks in this summit attended by Councilors Bernadeth Olivares and Edgardo Berroya, ABC President Diwa T. Tayao, Laguna Tourism, Culture, Arts and Trade Office (LTCATO) Chief Dr. Rosauro Sta Maria Jr., women guests from the Local Government Units, Academe, women and youth organizations and religious groups.
