The Couples for Christ(CFC) Answering the Cry for the Poor (ANCOP) Canada made a courtesy call to city mayor Lourdes S. Cataquiz last January 18, 2017 at the city hall of San Pedro.
City councilor Delio Hatulan, CFC ANCOP Canada, bro. Rudy Talosig, bro. Alex Reyes, bro. Conrad Fernandez, bro. Art Diaz, ANCOP Operation Manager, Elmer Cadiz and ANCOP finance manager Manette Z. Acero together with the Laguna provincial ANCOP team, during their meeting with mayor Lourdes Cataquiz, discussed the plan of constructing free shelters to the poorest of the poor constituents of the city. According to CFC-ANCOP Canada president, Ricky Cuenca, their group will be providing funds for the proposed shelters in a 1.8 hectare located at Bayan-bayanan. The city government, thru mayor Lourdes S. Cataquiz, shall provide the site development of the area while the support system will be of the CFC ANCOP CANADA.
Addition to the free shelters, CFC plans to also sponsor one educational scholarship per family which will be living in one of the said shelters. Along with this, livelihood programs and spiritual guidance for the family will also be provided. This heartwarming gesture is their way of returning all the blessings the group has received from God.
City mayor Lourdes S. Cataquiz extended her great appreciation for the group in choosing the city’s constituents to benefit from their project. ” The LGU and CFC ANCOP’s collaboration in amplifying lives of the marginalized sector is one way of changing lives and giving back to the society.” Said mayor.
The target groundbreaking of the shelters will be expected on the month of March 2017.
