The Buntis Congress with the theme “Alagang Ina, Alagang Baby; Walang dapat mamatay sa pag bigay ng buhay” was held today, December 16, 2016 at the multi-purpose hall, city hall of San Pedro. The event was spearheaded by the City Health Office Head, Dr. Robert Olivarez and Chief Nurse Riah Fojas thru the initiative of city mayor Lourdes S. Cataquiz.
Dr. Mary Anne Rivera, obstetrician-gynecologist of Jose L. Amante Emergency Hospital(JLAEH), lead the seminar of more than 150 pregnant women who are in their last trimester (7-9 months) of pregnancy. Buntis congress aims to strengthen the community’s promotional initiatives for maternal health through conducting seminars that offers information towards healthy pregnancy.
Lourdes S. Cataquiz, thanked the City Health Office for their effort in spreading awareness on healthy pregnancy. In her message, she said that pregnant women should give importance to their health during the pregnancy stage because pregnancy is a sensitive state not only for women but also the ones they’re carrying inside them.
Before the event ended, city mayor Lourdes S. Cataquiz lead the “Buntis Kit”distribution to the pregnant attendees.
