The province-wide event was held at the San Pedro Astrodome, Pacita Complex last September 22, 2016.
The Philhealth Team represented by Mr. Arturo Ardiente Chief of Field Operations Division, Jonathan Romulo E. Alcala, other Philhealth gentlemen and ladies staff were caring and solicitous in words and deeds while they assisted the brood of the elderlies throughout the event. In the program were Philhealth Updates: R. A. 10645 and TSEKAP.
For the “ Search for the Mr. & Ms Senior Citizen 2016 “, there were 7 paired representatives from different towns/cities in Laguna vying for the title. The competing towns/ cities were Bay, Los Baños, Calamba, Cabuyao, Sta Rosa, Biñan and San Pedro. After the presentation of the candidates in formal and different outfits and the show of talent, the representative Ms Senior Citizen from Biñan Carmelita V. Mendoza twirled and marched her way to emerge as winner with her “majorette” skills . The audience warmed up to her as she was the most applauded and therefore became a favorite of the crowd. San Pedro City representative, CASCASPI President, Reynaldo M. Amistad, on the other hand, while also Mr Senior Citizen contestant, showed off his gallant bearing throughout the show, thereby standing out as a winner himself. Both winnners sat at their respective thrones as Mr & Ms Senior Citizen 2016.
