RANELSON ESPALDON, SAN PEDRO FASHION DESIGNER, WINS GRAND PRIZE IN MANILA’ S FLORES TURISMO

June 2, 2016 – Under the sponsorships of the City of Manila’s Mayor Joseph “Ejercito ” Estrada and the Ermita – Malate Business Organization Association (EMBOA) hosted on May 27, 2016 an event dubbed as “Flores de Ermita Turismo” which showcased Filipiniana Terno made by fashion designers who are members of FDAP (Fashion Designers Association of the Philippines). The creation of Ranelson Castillo Espaldon, a San Pedronian, modeled by Mariel Tuzon, Mutya ng San Pedro 2013, bested other competitors vying for the Grand Prize. Ranelson is a grandnephew of the late Admiral Romulo Espaldon from the Bicol Region. Her mother is from Bohol.

He studied Architecture at the Far Eastern University, a training that bore its way into his designing skills apart from his natural talent at designs manifested in younger years. Then, he was repeatedly awarded in poster making, stage and costume designs in both elementary and high school.

13335734_1124001247663254_8569549234232619259_nRanelson’s creations were highlighted in weddings, debut, pageants, special events and his elite patrons in the San Pedro community. He did the coronation gown of Ginang San Pedro 2016, Annie Seterra. Sunday, June 5, 2016, Ranelson will do a Bridal Fashion Show at Starmall Alabang.

The signature of Ranelson is modern classic using the native fabrics as jusi, piña, among others. He uses other fabrics, as well.
These days, Ranelson is very much engaged with the preparations for the Young Designers’ Event as FDAP’s 30th Anniverary in September.
