Ms. Iris P. Guererro of the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the City of San Pedro reports that a qualifying examination for students 15 – 18 years old, from high school and college levels, was conducted last December 28, 2015. This project is called Special Program for Employment of Students. City Mayor Lourdes S. Cataquiz allowed allocation of funds for this yearly program which is composed of a 60 percent share from the LGU and 40 percent from the Department of Labor and Employment. Students who will pass the said examination will be shortlisted for summer employment at the City Hall. Likewise, students who will be employed will continue to assume their respective summer jobs until they graduate from college. 98 students took the qualifying exam.
